Job summary

Florence House Medical Practice is looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join our healthcare team and busy practice.

You will be delivering and assisting clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education.

If you are hard working, a team player with strong interpersonal skills who is flexible and willing to learn and adapt to the constant changes in general practice, then we want to hear from you!

Hours of work will be 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday, between 08.00 - 18.30pm. Salary will be discussed with the successful candidate.

Main duties of the job

  • Venepuncture
  • Measuring and recording height, weight, blood pressure
  • New patient health checks
  • NHS Health Checks
  • IM injection (following training and appropriate assessment)
  • When trained, administer flu vaccinations
  • ECG recording
  • Chaperoning duties
  • Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by clinicians
  • Clearing and own consulting room re-stocking
  • Checking and ordering treatment room supplies
  • Re-stocking doctors consulting rooms with syringes, blood forms, urine pots,
  • Checking and ordering of all vaccines
  • Maintaining fridge temperature and daily fridge temperature charts
  • Provide support during minor surgery as required
  • Support the practice with health promotion programme
  • Home visits to include care home visits as necessary.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the post of Healthcare Assistants

About us

Florence House is a well-established family practice that is looking for a healthcare assistant to work 37.5h per week, with flexibility. We are looking for a friendly individual who will join the practice team in delivering a traditional, patient centered service, whilst engaging and working towards future NHS expectations.

We are a supportive and well organised Academic Teaching and Training Practice (August 2015) with 5 Doctors and excellent administrative and clinical teams serving approximately 10,600 patients. We work in a purpose-built, modern LIFT building and take pride in our warm and welcoming working environment. We support training and study for all staff. We work collaboratively with our neighbourhood practices and form part of the Clayton, Openshaw and Beswick Primary Care Network
