Job summary

This advert is placed by Frithwood Surgery, Bussage, Stroud, GL6 8DE. Frithwood Surgery is a 5 Doctor, dispensing practice providing care to approx. 6900 patients in and around Bussage. We are looking for a competent and enthusiastic qualified dispenser to join our friendly and busy team. Ideally candidates will be Level 2 qualified in Dispensing.

The vacancy is for 25 hours per week over 5 days. Job shares may be possible.

Main duties of the job

You will be dispensing prescriptions to our patients and working as part of a small team. Essential skills include the ability to work under pressure and effectively as a team member, computer skills, sound communicator, good customer service skills and flexibility to cover hours. Experience of SystmOne would be beneficial.

Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include: To action repeat prescription requests and ensure that they are ready for collection by the patient with 48 hours, either on the computer or manually To ensure that all monies received or handled on behalf of the practice are appropriately stored and a record kept of all financial transactions Ordering majority of drugs via the wholesalers computer link in appropriate quantities. Checking goods as and when they are delivered and recording details onto the computer ensuring stock is correct and returning incorrect goods to the wholesalers Provide general assistance to clinical staff and promptly act upon any instructions from the doctors Personal/Professional Development: You will: Take responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development Work with your colleagues, learning and demonstrating skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar work Quality: We are seeking a friendly, diligent team member who is alert to issues of quality and risk Work effectively with individuals in all of the team to meet patients needs Communicate effectively with other team members, patients and carers Key working relationships: Patients and their representatives Dispensary team GPs, other clinicians and non-medical prescribers Reception and admin teams Pharmacies District Nurses
