Job summary
We require a Health Care Assistant at our Practice in the centre of Newbury to replace our HCA who we are supporting in her Nurse Associate training.
We are a large, busy practice of 22,000 patients in a large modern building. We will support your training and development to become a brilliant Health Care Assistant. You will report to the nursing team leader who will mentor you.
Main duties of the job
We have a vacancy for an experienced Health Care
Assistant - hours to be negotiated
Working in the Nursing Team you will undertake the
following duties:
New patient health checks
ECG recording
Chaperoning duties
Follow Up Wound Dressings
Assisting clinical staff in their tasks
Vaccine / cold chain storage, monitoring and
recording
Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of
patients health and well-being
Undertaking specific clinical activities for named
patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that
individual.
Venepuncture
Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being
and how it can be promoted
Assisting with the collection and collation of data
on needs related to health and well-being
About us
Strawberry Hill Medical Centre is in the centre of Newbury in a large modern building a short walk to the shops, train station and bus station. Join our big friendly clinical team of 10 GP's, 4 Nurses, 2 Physician Associates and 2 GP registrars - supported by 30 admin, reception and management team members.
We are a training practice and support all our staff in career development if they wish.
