Job summary

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated Reception /Administrative staff to join our friendly practice in place of a long time retiring staff member. Primary responsibilities of a GP receptionist in a medical practice include fielding calls, setting appointments, submitting refill requests for processing, setting up referrals to specialists and routing calls, messages and emails to the appropriate people within a practice. The successful applicant will need to work approximately 20 hours per week possibly more to provide cover for other staff members holidays/leave.We are a busy practice in Ilford serving approximately 8200 patients with a highly motivated team.

Main duties of the job

Essential skills include good communication, computer literacy & an excellent telephone manner, a willingness to learn with the ability to use own initiative. Experience of working in public domain is desirable.

York Surgery serves an ethnically diverse population of about 8200 patients living in Ilford. We aim to provide the best quality patient services. The surgery comprises of 2 GP partners, two salaried GPs, two nurses and 6 other reception and administrative staff members.
