Job summary
Are you looking for a flexible and
fulfilling GP role that offers you the work/life balance and lifestyle you
want? If
youre looking to live and work in a vibrant city with all of the amenities,
transport links and lifestyle options, then come take a closer look at St Peters Health
Centre in central Brighton.
The St Peters team is passionate
about primary care and want to make a difference. Our team is cohesive and
we look after each other and demonstrate a great team spirit. Meeting the needs of our patient
demographic which features pockets of deprivation is
rewarded with high level of job
satisfaction and a great sense of fulfilment at helping a genuinely needy population. The work is sometimes challenging and intense but the
rewards are immense and your contribution will make a fantastic difference, not
only to the practice but also to the local community.
Main duties of the job
We can offer a range of flexible working practices that could suit you. Up to 8 sessions are available as a GP Partner, including the New to Partnership payment. Condensed hours can be offered and some remote working can be considered too.
We pride ourselves on our multi-disciplinary partnership consisting of 4 GPs, 1 ANP partner and a non-clinical managing partner. In addition we have an extended multi-disciplinary clinical team with 3 advanced nurse practitioners, 2 clinical pharmacists, 8 salaried GPs, an alcohol liaison nurse, 2 health care assistants, 2 mental health practitioners, a phlebotomist and 2 pharmacy technicians. We provide a full range of enhanced services, a specialist family planning clinic, a young persons drop in service and we are hoping to re-launch our travel clinic. We have consistently achieved great QOF scores and are currently rated as good by CQC. Education is important to us and we are working hard towards becoming a training practice once again and host first year medical students and also, FY2s from January 2023. One of or GP partners is a family planning trainer and we regularly have trainee IUD fitters at the practice.
About us
We are members of East & Central Brighton PCN and are fortunate to benefit from a large multi-disciplinary team comprising of clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, a frailty nurse, OT, FCPs, social prescribers, care coordinators, health and wellbeing coaches, a patient engagement worker, a data analyst and shortly, a dietitian. The PCN also provides a home visiting service, run by paramedics and supervised by a local GP, resulting in very few home visits needing to be carried out by the practice.
The future for St Peters is exciting, within the
next month we are moving into phase 1 of our fabulous new premises in Oxford
St, with phase 2 beginning construction in late September and completing in
summer 2023.
Our practice list size has grown
from 11000 in 2018 after one merger, to 20000 after another
local practice merged with us in 2021. We
use TPP SystmOne.
Our appointment system is a mixture of telephone
and face to face consultations with dedicated time for practice administration
and a daily team coffee break as well as weekly clinical meetings. We encourage
the development of new skills, and would support someone who wanted to develop GP
training or medical student teaching. The pandemic has moved the practice on with
technological advances and we are proud with what we have achieved since 2020.
