Job summary

An opportunity to join our practice, working as part of our small, friendly administration team.

We serve 26,000 patients in our local area, across three sites, at Talbot Medical Centre, Northbourne Surgery and including students at Bournemouth University Medical Centre.

The role is variable and deals with general administration duties associated with general practice and would suit someone with appropriate experience and a desire to support our patients.

Main duties of the job

Administration

To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures.

To work in accordance of all written protocols and policies

Pulling notes when requested and ensure all records are sent back in the correct bag to PCSE in a timely way and collecting notes from other sites

Processing results

Receive and send daily post and process electronic incoming letters and GP2GP

Processing and coding 111s and out of hours reports

Regularly checking admin email accounts and dealing appropriately with contents

Coding of hospital letters, diabetic eye screening letters, bowel screening

Sending invitations to patients for annual LTC reviews, smear tests, baby immunisations and other immunisations

Scan and Workflow documentation ensuring completion of the whole process on the same day as arrival when required

Summarising and Read coding of new patients notes

Job description

Job responsibilities

This person must be capable of performing accurately any function requested of them within the scope of this post. No formal qualifications are required but a good working knowledge of SystmOne TPP computer system is desirable.

AIM:

To work alongside and support the rest of admin and secretarial teams.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Administration

To have a thorough knowledge of all Practice procedures.

To work in accordance of all written protocols and policies

Data Protection Regulations (applicable to all staff, visitors, patients, contractors etc)

Caldicott Requirements (Patient Confidentiality)

Any other tasks allocated by Partners/Managers that fall within the scope of Practice requirements and employee's expected skill level
