Job summary
As part of the Admin Team
the post holder, along with the other team members is responsible for
undertaking a wide range of administrative and secretarial duties and the
provision of administrative support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can
include but are not limited to, the processing of information (electronic and
hard copy) in a timely manner, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and
external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers in
accordance with current policies, including the use of the electronic referral
service (ERS).
Main duties of the job
- Scan patient related documentation and attaching scanned/electronic
documents from secondary care to patients healthcare
record
- Code clinical data on EMIS Web using SNOMED
codes
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Input data into the patients healthcare records
as necessary
- Type
letters, reports and associated documentation as required
- Process
referrals efficiently, using the electronic referral
system (ERS) or sent by email
- Maintain
an accurate referral database; e-RS Management
- Action
generic emails; clinical and admin. Disseminate information to the practice as
required.Input data into the patients healthcare records

- Answer
incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers
request appropriately;Manage all administrative queries as necessary
- Carry
out system searches as requested -Recall patients for annual checks
- Maintain
a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
- Support
all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested
- Summarise
medical records - GP2GP / Lloyd George notes
- Return
medical records (for patients who have left the practice) to the Health
Authority (PCSE)
- Manage
all enquires in an effective manner
- Liaising
with external agencies such as hospitals and community services,

requests for information; SAR (subject access request), insurance/solicitor reports, DVLA forms, electronic reports (iGPR),Benefits agency

Somerford Grove is a well established, organised training practice that
offers an excellent level of service to patients and provides a supportive
working environment where everyone feels valued.
We have approximately 11900 patients.
We are a team of 11 GPs, 2 GP Registrars, 2 Practice Nurse, 1 Nurse
Associate and 1 HCA supported by an efficient and friendly administration team.
We are based in a purpose built premises minutes away from Rectory Road,
Dalston Kingsland and Dalston Junction stations. We have onsite parking and a
secure bike shed.
As a team we make time to get together once every quarter for 'pot luck'
and also to engage in other social activities such as bowling.
