Job summary

Shipston Medical Centre are looking for an enthusiastic applicant for the post of Deputy Practice Manager. Based in the market town of Shipston on Stour just outside the Cotswolds, our growing practice of 12K patients has a dispensary, is a training practice with an excellent reputation and is rated outstanding by the CQC. We are innovative and forward-thinking in our approach to healthcare and are determined to build on our reputation and continue to deliver a high-quality service.

We are looking for a candidate with management experience who wishes to develop their career in practice management and shares our ethos of innovation, pragmatism and putting the patient first. The role will initially involve management of our medical records team and supporting the Practice Manager with day to day operations including streamlining practice finances, optimising QOF performance and supporting change. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their enthusiasm, communication and problem-solving skills and an ability to balance and prioritise competing workloads.

Main duties of the job

To manage the Document Management and Medical Records Team, providing first line management to colleagues, and working with them to ensure departmental operational policies and processes are followed, have regular review and remain effective and efficient.

To provide support and assistance to the Practice Manager in the successful running of the business, supporting the practice manager in the day-to-day operations of the practice, and deputising for Practice Manager as needed.

Provide a lead role in the practice for information governance, reviewing and updating policies and practice.
