Practice Nurse
This job is now closed
Job summary
Due to planned retirement later in the year Shipston Medical Centre is looking to recruit a practice nurse to join our team, allowing opportunity for development and support for our new colleague prior to our existing colleague retiring.
We are passionate about good quality, evidenced based, patient centred care and as such are keen to find the right person who will thrive in our team. We therefore welcome applications from those with experience of practice nursing and /or the management of long term conditions, and those who would like to develop their skills in this sector. The role is ideally part time, but number of hours is negotiable to suit the right candidate. We are happy to invest in skill development.
Main duties of the job
Practice nurses can undertake a range of tasks, whilst providing holistic care for patients. Treatment room tasks include cervical screening, wound care, provision of immunisations and vaccinations, family planning advice and anticoagulation monitoring. Nurses who have not worked in primary care before tend to develop these skills first. Those with experience often go on to develop long-term condition management knowledge, supporting patients to manage their conditions to optimise health outcomes. We would be interested in employing someone anywhere along the primary care knowledge and skills continuum and are happy to invest in skills development.
