Job summary
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Practice Nurse to become a valued member of our friendly, supportive, and growing primary care team. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a varied and rewarding clinical role, with a particular focus on wound care and tissue viability, alongside delivering routine immunisations, cervical screening, and injectable therapies.
We are especially keen to hear from candidates with an interest in sexual and reproductive health, and who are confident in delivering family planning advice. Experience in the provision of long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) is highly desirable, as we are looking to strengthen and expand our services in this area.
Ideally, the successful candidate will be available to work up to 37.5 hours per week, with flexibility to cover shifts starting from 7:30am or finishing at 8:00pm, as part of our extended access provision. However, we warmly welcome applications from experienced Practice Nurses who can offer a minimum of 24 hours per week.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to provide skilled, evidence-based nursing care to our diverse patient population, including:
- Wound care management including treatment of leg ulcers and complex wounds
- Expertise in tissue viability and pressure ulcer prevention
- Performing and interpreting Doppler assessments
- Conducting cervical cytology
- Administration of routine and immunisations, including all adult and childhood vaccinations
- Administration of other injections eg contraception, Zoladex etc.
- Supporting the management of long-term conditions
