Job summary
Sky Blue Medical Group are looking for an experienced
Practice Nurse to join our friendly team comprised of 2 Practice nurses 1 nurse
associate and 1 health care assistant.
4-6 SESSIONS A WEEK
CLOSING DATE 31st Jan 2024
- Must be well presented and have good IT skills.
- Previous GP Practice experience is essential.

EMIS Web clinical system experience would be an advantage.
- Salary depending on experience.
- Relevant experience and familiarity with all aspects of general
practice nursing and chronic disease management preferred, specialising in
Asthma/COPD.
Main duties of the job
- To plan and deliver high quality integrated nursing
care to the practice population
- To promote health and well being within the practice
population
- To work with clinical and non-clinical practice
staff, other members of the wider healthcare team and NHSE/CCG in contributing
to:
- The achievement of QOF
- Delivering objectives set out in the NHS Action
Plan Meeting the standards as set out by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Job responsibilities
- Cervical cytology & teaching breast awareness
- Wound care and management including removal of
sutures
- New Patient Health checks
- Urinalysis
- BP & BMI checks
- ECGs
- COPD / Asthma / Peak Flow Readings / Spirometry
- LES/DES/QOF related clinical and administrative
work
- Routine immunisations including flu /
- Childhood immunisations
- Travel health advice and vaccinations
- Contraception including Pill checks
- Menopause and HRT consultations
- Chaperoning
- Assisting GPs with minor surgery and coil fittings
- Requesting pathology tests, for example urine
culture, swabs
- Experience in Diabetes
- Following agreed clinical protocols (patient group
directives) with referral to GPs as appropriate
- Ordering of vaccinations and equipment to maintain
stock levels
- At all times there will be a need to maintain
accurate records
- Attend and participate in any Practice meetings
when required
- Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post
