About the job…
- Primary aim is to take the administrative work load from GPs
- Managing all administration within competency and passing on that unable to deal with
- Compliment medical secretarial services
- Summarising new patient notes
- Support administratively with Enhanced Service claims and CQRS
- Manage shared care high risk drug monitoring with support from clinical team
- Update social media platforms regularly
- Manage virtual Patient Participation Group

medical secretary and clinical administration duties entry duties.
Challenges:
Balancing the service priorities
of the practice; maintaining a friendly and welcoming demeanour in the face of
demands that may not be capable of achievement and where there may be barriers
to understanding. Dealing with sensitive, confidential and sometimes
distressing information.
Job Responsibilities:
Medical Secretarial
Duties
·
Word
processing/ typing of medical correspondence from audio sources.
·
Managing
outsourcing of typing where required.
·
Administration
of referral letters through ERS.
·
Management
of ERS workflows and work streams.
·
Liaison
with hospital secretaries on referral letter matters and waiting list
information etc.
·
Managing
and resolving patient queries.
·
Typing
of other manuscript documents as required.
·
Other
secretarial duties as required by partners/ GPs & Practice Business
Manager.
Clinical
Administrative Duties
·
Receiving
work flowed documents and actioning items within competency.
·
Read
coding incoming documentation.
·
Summarising
of incoming patient paper notes and verification of incoming patient electronic
notes.
·
Review
QOF and enhanced services, highlighting issues to clinical/operation staff.
·
To
support administrative colleagues with claims (CQRS and Enhanced Services).
·
Responsible
for administratively managing and recalling patients for shared care / high
risk drug monitoring with support and clinical guidance from the Pharmacy team.
·
Update
social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook, on a regular basis in
conjunction with the management team.
·
Manage
virtual Patient Participation Group.
·
Support
the creation, undertaking and analysis of an annual patient survey with the
management team.
Information Technology
·
Have
a working knowledge of appropriate software and hardware.
