Sadly due to our current HCA/Dispensary Assistant having to relocate to the South Scorton Medical Centre are looking for a qualified and experienced Healthcare Assistant to work approximately 26 hours per week to provide a quality healthcare service to our patients. This is a varied and interesting post working between bookable HCA clinics and working within our Dispensary as a Dispensary Assistant. Experience of working in a Dispensary is not essential as full training will be given
We are a very busy rural dispensing practice in a beautiful purpose built Medical Centre in a great location. We have a small and very friendly team who all work together. We have Partners who care for our staff and we have an excellent, supportive working environment. Along with a professional approach a good sense of humor is essential!
Main duties of the job
This varied role includes but is not limited to:
- Nursing duties such as new patient registration and health checks, wound care, phlebotomy (taking blood), pathology requests, vaccinations, BP monitoring, ECG recording, spirometry, urinalysis, health checks and monitoring, chaperoning and assist our GPs with minor ops/women's health clinics
- Administrative and professional duties such as processing and management of laboratory samples, monitoring and recording vaccine/cold chain storage, ensuring all patient data is accurate, legible and up to date and that all administrative tasks relating to a patient care are completed to a high standard
- Practice duties such as ensuring all clinical rooms are fully stocked with the appropriate medical equipment and supplies, engaging and contributing to team/practice meetings and being professional towards patients and colleagues to ensure a good working environment
You must have current/recent working experience in all of the above
- Whilst working within the Dispensary your duties will include but are not restricted to: dealing with patients collecting/ordering medication, inputting of medication requests onto our clinical system within Practice guidelines. Assist in operating an efficient stock control system, logging in medication stock as it arrives and storage of drugs in an appropriate manner. Assist Dispensers as required. Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Our team is made up of our 3 GP's, 1 Retainee GP, 2 Practice Nurses, Practice Manager, Assistant Practice Manager and Dispensary Lead along with a team of Dispensers, Secretarial and Reception Staff
The ideal candidate will need to be adaptable, flexible and available, sometimes at short notice, to cover sickness/holidays Experience of working in a GP Practice would be beneficial but not essential as the right person is more important is such a small team
