Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and
enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our expanding clinical team, to work across our two busy practice sites.
Main duties of the job
The practice nurse will work as part of the primary healthcare team providing Personal Medical Services to the patients of the practice; Main responsibilities include:
- Supporting clinical teams
- Cytology
- Wound Care
- Removal of Sutures
- Long Term conditions Management (including asthma, diabetes etc) Venepuncture Hypertension Management
- Routine immunisations Childhood immunisations
- Infection Control

Coquet Medical Group is a rural Practice on the
beautiful coast of Northumberland based across two practice sites at Amble and
Hadston. At Coquet Medical Group we have a culture focused on work/life balance
and have an excellent Doctor:Patient ratio.
We have 5 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, 3 ANPs, 4
Practice Nurses, 1 Nurse Associate, 5 HCA, 1 Phlebotomist and a large
supportive team of Receptionists, Administration and Secretaries.
We have regular clinical and non-clinical team
meetings to manage and continually improve our patient care. We are passionate
about training the next generation of workforce and for many years we have been
a teaching practice.
As well as providing general medical services,
there are a range of other Primary Care Services such as Podiatry, Health
Visitors, District Nursing and School Nursing available on site provided by
Northumbria Healthcare.
Our Practice is part of the Well Up North Primary
Care Network which consists of 12 GP Practices. We are supported on site by a
range of supporting staff including First Contact Physiotherapists, Pharmacist,
Mental Health Practitioners, Health and Wellbeing Coaches and GP Link Workers.
We are dedicated to providing a quality service to
all of our patients and have been a COVID Vaccine Centre throughout the
pandemic.

health care professionals to diagnose, monitor, manage and treat long-term
conditions in line with practice protocols

Review medication for
therapeutic effectiveness

Work with patients in
order to support adherence to prescribed treatments
·
Implement and
evaluate programmes that promote health and well-being (e.g. smoking cessation
and weight management)
·
Implement and
participate in vaccination and immunisation programmes for both adults and
children
·
Advise, support and
where appropriate, administer vaccinations for patients travelling abroad
·
Initiates and manages
a methodical assessment of patient needs
·
Manages care
programmes directly to patients without referral from another senior nurse or
doctor
·
Mentor and guide
learners in their education programmes as a mentor or preceptor
·
Initiate and lead
practice developments to enhance the nursing contribution and quality of care
·
Ensure accurate,
contemporaneous and complete records of patients consultations, consistent with
legislation policies and procedures and treatments are recorded on the computer
when necessary
