Prescribing Paramedic (BANK ROLE)

Job summary

As a triage paramedic we will require you to manage the "on-the-day" demand. You will be a crucial link between patients and GPs, conducting telephone consultations, to assess, diagnose, and treat patients with acute or minor illnesses.

Main duties of the job

  • Telephone and Online Triage:Reviewing incoming urgent requests to determine the appropriate level of care, prioritizing patients, and reducing the workload on doctors.
  • Acute/Same-Day Consultations:Seeing patients with undifferentiated, non-life-threatening conditions (e.g., coughs, infections, minor injuries) in a clinic setting.
  • Home Visits:Carrying out home visits, particularly for housebound or elderly patients, acting as the "eyes and ears" of the GP in the community.
  • Clinical Assessment & Decision Making:Performing physical examinations, interpreting ECGs, and ordering or reviewing diagnostic tests.
  • Safety Netting & Referrals:Identifying patients needing urgent secondary care, making referrals to specialists, or directing patients to community services.

    We are a dynamic organisation that operates a Triage led service. The successful candidate will integrate in to the triage team to support the triaging GP's in managing the day to day case loads. This will be across our different sites.

        • - HCPC Registered: They must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
        • - Independent prescriber.
