Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated team for up to 4 sessions a week.
A high standard of patient care is our utmost priority together with the work-life balance of our GPs and staff. This is a chance for a like-minded individual to join us in making our excellent service available to the wider community in Wellington and the surrounding rural area.
Wellington is a attractive market town just off the M5 and near to the A303, set in the picturesque West Somerset countryside and close to the North Devon coast and Exmoor. We have good rail and road links and Bristol, Exeter, Bath and London can be easily reached. If you are into fitness, outdoor pursuits, the Arts or more, everything is on the doop step or easily accessible.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an individual who is focused on providing good quality personal care, to fit within our excellent team ethic. In general the post-holder will be expected to carry out the duties and responsibilities of a GP working in primary care. A typical day will be a mixture of face to face and telephone consultations. along with associated administration, prescription signing, processing of lab reports and clinical documents and queries.
We operate a 'usual GP' system so you will have responsibility for a personal list from our pooled list of patients, enabling us to give continuity of care in a semi-rural area.
About us
Luson Surgery has a strong and dedicated clinical team currently with five doctors, two Nurse Practitioners, two Clinical Pharmacists, two First Contact Physios and a Mental Health Practitioner and we are well supported by a Multi-disciplinary PCN team. Along with the nursing and administration team we pride ourselves on our supportive working environment and the practice has a family ethos.
Wellington itself has many small shops and local businesses that have vanished from many High Streets. The primary schools of Wellington are justly renowned and Wellington School is a highly performing independent co-educational secondary school with many international students.
