Lane End Surgery are looking for a Medical Receptionist to join our patient centred, highly skilled team.
We are recruiting multiple positions, to help us expand our team. We are looking for part or full time hours for this post. This could range from 16hrs to 38hrs hours per week working between Monday - Friday 8:00am - 6:00pm.
Cover for colleagues during periods of leave will also be required.
To work as a Medical Receptionist you will need to enjoy working with the public in a fast paced, challenging, supportive environment. You will deal with a wide variety of people each day face to face, online and by telephone.
Dealing with patients and information in a confidential and respectful manner is fundamental to this role.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a caring, capable and professional person with good communication and interpersonal skills.
The person must be able to work under pressure, adapt quickly to respond to multiple demands and want to work as part of a team.
Excellent organisational and IT skills are essential to this role

- To act as the primary point of contact for patients, visitors and other healthcare professionals.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Provision of reception service to patients and visitors
Deal with queries and requests for services/information effectively and courteously
Make patients appointments
Maintenance and updating of computerised patient records
Record requests for home visits in line with the practice procedure
Electronically update patient correspondence
Oversee and supervise the waiting area
Ensure that consulting rooms are maintained to a high standard and are well stocked with appropriate stationary
Ensure that all messages are relayed promptly
Opening and closing practice premise in a timely and safe manner
Ensuring that the telephone answering service to the practice is operational and relays accurate information
Dealing with patient requests for prescriptions in line with the practice procedure
Registering new patients
Receiving and checking in daily post
