Job summary
Watling Medical Centre, with its two sites, is looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated Physician Associate to join our dynamic training practice and to work alongside our wider clinical team.

Main duties of the job
- take medical histories from patients
- carry out physical examinations
- see patients with minor illness
- see patients with long-term chronic conditions
- formulate differential diagnoses and management plans
- develop and deliver appropriate treatment and management plans
- provide health promotion and disease prevention advice for patients.
About us
Watling Medical Centre is a large training practice (medical students and GP registrars) with its two sites (Burnt Oak and Stanmore). We offer care to 17,500 registered patients. We are a member of very active Primary Care Network and share number of different healthcare professionals amongst us. Most of our staff members have been with the practice for very long time and majority of our GPs and nurses started here as our trainees. Our clinicians as well as non-clinical staff, pride themselves on providing continuity of care and having meaningful relationships with our patients.

Job responsibilities
The PA will provide care for the
presenting patient from initial history taking and clinical assessment through
to the diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. They will demonstrate
critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process, including assessment
and diagnostic skills, leading to the delivery of safe care for all patients.
They will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to meet the needs of
the patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures. The PA will
provide a holistic and clinical service, with support from GPs as required,
implementing agreed management plans and following approved protocols as

Qualifications
Essential
- Postgraduate diploma/Master in Physician Associate from an accredited UK University
- Bachelor degree in Life Science/Biomedical/Nursing or Allied Health Science
- Member of Faculty of Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Register (PAMVR)
- Valid national certification and recertification every six years as stipulated by PAMVR
Desirable
- Qualified in phlebotomy
- Registered smears sample taker
Personal qualities

- Professional attitude and commitment
- Good communication and empathy skills
- Ability to work as a member of team, both through communication and sharing
- Ability to manage high pressure situations
- Ability to prioritise and organise assigned and ad hoc workload
Experience

- Ability to use EMIS WEB, Docman and Microsoft Office
