Job summary
We are a busy, friendly GP practice with a
list size of approximately 8,200 patients, seeking a motivated, organised, and
approachable Medical Receptionist to join our team at Layton Medical Centre
The successful candidate will be the first
point of contact for our patients, providing a professional and welcoming
service both in person and over the phone. Responsibilities include managing
appointments, handling patient enquiries, processing repeat prescriptions, and
supporting the clinical team with general administrative tasks.
Excellent communication skills, a calm and
caring manner, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced
environment are essential.
This is a part-time role, working 16 - 20 hours
per week,We are looking for a friendly, reliable
team player who is committed to delivering excellent patient care as part of
our supportive practice team.
Main duties of the job
The Medical Receptionist plays a key role
in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice. Main duties include:
Booking and managing patient
appointments, both over the phone and in person.
Handling patient queries in a
professional, confidential, and compassionate manner.
Processing administrative tasks from
clinicians including messages, test results, and referrals.
Managing repeat prescription requests
accurately and efficiently.
Signposting patients to the most
appropriate healthcare professional or service, including external services
when necessary.
Registering new patients and updating
patient records in accordance with practice protocols.
Supporting the clinical and admin teams
with general administrative duties as required.
Maintaining patient confidentiality and
working in accordance with data protection and practice policies.
