Job Summary:
Provide and maintain the highest standard of patient centred nursing
care as well as providing nursing assistance to the doctors and other members
of the healthcare team.
Effective, professional communication with relevant consultants, GPwSIs/GPWERs,
theatre staff, Healthcare and administration teams and enhancement of
communication between Doctor and patient.
Main duties of the job
Dermatology nurse
To remain up to date in treatment management, through research and
evidence based practice, and to be responsible and accountable for delivering
effective safe
To co-ordinate the care throughout the patients pathway whilst under
the care of the MDT; through from diagnosis to treatment and follow-up.
To provide appropriate written information for patients, relatives and
hospital staff covering relevant condition and its treatment.

dermatology service manages a wide-range of dermatological conditions that
would otherwise be referred to secondary care. Our team of consultants, GPwERs
and specialist nurses are able to provide patients with rapid access to
specialist opinion from a choice of clinic location including Carlisle,
Cockermouth, Maryport and Keswick.
We strive to deliver
exceptional standards of care within the community setting where patients are
seen within 12 weeks from referral and referring GPs can access timely advice
and guidance, we also offer teaching and shadowing to GPs and others with an
interest in dermatology.

- Registered nurse
- Post-registration qualification in relevant specialist nursing or equivalent experience
- Competent in the physical examination of patients including assessment, history taking, venepuncture and cannulation
Desirable
- Additional relevant qualifications
- Experience of managing own clinic
- Mentorship course or teaching qualification
- Formal qualification in non-medical prescribing or willing to work towards
