Job summary
To
provide nursing services to patients of
the practice including the development and promotion of health screening
programmes, within the professional competence of the post holder. The post
holder will work in accordance with the NMC code of conduct.
Main duties of the job
Provide
nursing treatments to patients in collaboration with G.P.s or independently to
agreed protocols.
Child
Health surveillance.
Chronic Disease management
To
provide screening for Primary Prevention of cancer.
Visit
patients where appropriate in their own home.
Maintain
accurate patient records, statistics and equipment used.
To
order and maintain stocks of vaccines and injectables personally administered
by the Partners or Practice Nurses.
To
maintain professional development and education.
To
liase with outside agencies to provide a good standard of service to the
Practice population.
Responsible
for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of the patients you are responsible
for or come into contact with.
Any
other duties at the request of the General Practitioners/Practice
Manager.
All
Practice staff should be aware of their responsibilities under the Health and
Safety at Work Act.
This

We are a busy Practice with approximately 6000 patients situated half a mile from Oldham Town Centre. Oldham is a
friendly lively town with sport, the arts and entertainment taking a high
profile. On the doorstep is the Pennine
moorland encompassing a number of delightful villages but only 15 minutes away
from the vibrant city centre of Manchester
it has good schools and motorway links.
We have a Principal GP, 2 Salaried GPs, 1
ANP, 2 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs,a Clinical Pharmacist, a Safeguarding Care Co-ordinator, a Focused Care worker, a FCP and a Mental Health worker.
