Job summary
We have a part time (18-21 hrs per week) position available in our Medical Reception team. This role is at the heart of our daily services and is the face of our patient communications, so strong communication, customer service, organisation, administrative skills and team-working are essential.
Main duties of the job
Reception duties include:
- Managing, directing and prioritising appointment requests
- monitoring flow of patients
- communicating practice processes to patients and providing information packs
- processing patient registrations and online access to medical records
- advising and processing payments
- responding to all queries and requests for assistance and chaperoning patients
- directing/signposting patients to partner services
- logging home visit requests
- action ambulances/transport requests
- maintaining reception and patient areas
- greeting and directing visitors and contractors
- scanning and filling correspondence, reports, results to patient records
- processing tasks logged on the clinical system
- processing repeat prescriptions
- preparing and maintaining Consulting Rooms
- staffing the practice reception desk and telephone
- Chaperoning clinical staff on request
- participating in audit and quality improvement initiatives and activity audits.

Join our multi-disciplinary team, in our progressive, friendly and vibrant General Practice. Our high performing practice operates from a modern purpose built surgery, located in leafy residential Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire within easy reach of Birmingham and the M5.
With 6 partners, 6 Associate Doctors, Practice Pharmacists, a Nursing team and FCP, we manage13,600 patients and are a growing, ambitious and forward-looking practice with a strong interest in education and research. We teach Birmingham University undergraduate Medical students (years 1-4), and University of Worcester Nursing and Physician Associate students. We train FY2 Drs and GP Registrars ST1,2 & 3 and actively participate in the NIHR Clinical Research Network.
We host visiting Cardiologist, Neurologist, Counsellors, District Nurses, Mental Health Workers, Physiotherapists, Social Prescriber and lifestyle advisor, Ultrasound and Retinopathy screening services.
