Lance Lane Medical Centre is looking to recruit a part time Receptionist to join our friendly and established team.

Hours will be 16 hours a week and we are looking for candidate to work Wednesday mornings, Thursday afternoons and Friday afternoons. Candidate must be flexible with their start and finishing times .

Position will be initially for 6 months with a view to be extended.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, driven, a team player with fantastic customer service skills who is willing to learn and likes to make a difference. The candidate must be a quick learner, adaptable to a busy environment and take a flexible approach to work patterns.

The role will be mainly patient facing with duties including front desk, scanning, prescription requests and general administration work. You should be EMIS proficient, but we are happy to develop these IT skills if needed.

GP Reception Experience and knowledge of EMIS Web is ideal.

Main duties of the job

This role involves greeting and booking patients in at reception, booking and cancelling appointments.

Answer incoming telephone calls and ensuring calls are documented and directed where appropriate.

Ensure correspondence are filed electronically in correct patient records.

Assist with daily administration duties such as filing, picking up emails, scanning, dealing with queries and processing prescriptions. Undertake administration tasks as allocated on rota organised by Manager.

Lance Lane Medical Centre is a well established GP practice in Wavertree, South Liverpool. The Practice has approximately 6,500 patients. We are CQC rated Good (2022).

We work together as a team to provide an excellent high quality service to our patients which is organised and consistent and we have a genuine, family orientated and personalised approach to our patients. We strive to maintain a supportive team environment for our clinical and non-clinical staff members.

Lance Lane is part of CWN PCN (Childwall and Wavertree Network) with additional support received from Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy technicians, Health and well-being coaches, Social Prescribers, First Contact Physiotherapists, Mental Health Practitioners and Care co-ordinators.

  • Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patient/representative and checking names and address and code appropriately.
  • Be able to cover all reception position as necessary
  • Process appointment requests for today/future appointments from patients by telephone and in person.
  • Deal with visits/requests

  • Forwarding calls to the correct destination when necessary
  • Taking messages
  • Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
