Job summary

Railway Medical Group is seeking an experienced Locum GP to provide additional 12 month maternity cover. You will deliver face-to-face and telephone consultations, plus one home visit per day.

The role involves working within a friendly team of partners and providing high-quality patient care.

Partners: Drs Nicola Shiell, Grace Watts, Alex van den Bos, Rebecca Cross, Emma Stewart, Pepper Atkinson, Mr C Watson

Position: Locum General Practitioner (GP)

Contract Duration: 12 months (30th September 2025 25th September 2026)

Working Days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday each week

Sessions: Full days on working days, including one home visit

Main duties of the job

Conduct 12 face-to-face appointments per morning and afternoon clinic

Manage 2 telephone follow-up slots per clinic session (to phone patients re results etc.)

Complete 1 home visit per working day

Complete associated administration (test ordering, medication queries, referral letters) within the session

Maintain confidentiality and adhere to GMC and practice professional standards

Hours & Remuneration

Full working days on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Start / finish time negotiable

Daily rate: £650 plus pension contribution (£734 if exempt)

Additional hours by prior agreement, paid at a mutually agreed rate

Self-employed contractor status (no paid leave or statutory benefits)
