G DOC Ltd

Flexible Salaried GP position in the Forest of Dean (Lydney Practice)

The closing date is 18 June 2025

Job summary

We are looking for clinicians to join our Lydney practice in the beautiful Forest of Dean.

This is an opportunity for GPs who enjoy working in a team environment to join our friendly and family orientated practice in Lydney. The practice has a stable clinical staff structure, but with an increasing patient population we are now looking to augment the current GPs with an additional salaried GP(s) covering 4 sessions.

We offer highly flexible working that can be tailored to your needs and balanced with patient requirements. We guarantee finite patients contacts per day and overall, an excellent work-life balance.

We are owned and operated by G DOC LTD, a not-for- profit organisation owned by all the GP practices in Gloucestershire. Being part of the GDOC family offers our GPs the best of both worlds: a small Practice team providing continuity of care for patients, and the support and career opportunities of a larger organisation to draw on when you want.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a new or established GP seeking a salaried position.

Closing Date: 18 June 2025

Main duties of the job

Primary care clinician duties, including (but not limited to) face to face consultations, video consultations, telephone consultations, e-consultations and queries. Also, home visits, duty doctor/on-call responsibilities, clinical administration, prescribing, and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion. Acting as Named GP for a share of registered patients proportionate to contracted hours.

Complying with the General Medical Councils Good Medical Practice and other standards for doctors.

We offer you:

Highly competitive pay: in excess of £11,000 per session.

BMA model contract

Choice: we can offer the hours and days of work that suit you.

Flexible hours to accommodate a portfolio career, family responsibilities, and out of work interest.

Options to combine general practice with other professional interests, both within GDOC and externally, including supporting specialisations, continued education and GP training.

Friendly, supportive and expert practice teams who work alongside our GP taking care of routine Clinical administrative tasks.

The Lydney practice is moving to a new purpose built practice building in 2026.

About us

You will be required to be immunised in compliance with Green Book (link attached) and NHS recommendations for your role (unless medically exempt).
