Job summary

We are looking for an ambitious, patient centred healthcare assistant to join our 25,000-patient practice in Kingston upon Thames.

Kingston Health Centre is a forward-thinking training practice of 25,000 patients and growing. We currently have a team of 19 doctors and a multidisciplinary team of nurses, healthcare assistants, pharmacists and other specialists. The practice is supported and managed by an experienced team of managers, admin staff and friendly reception staff. If you are passionate about providing great care to patient and developing your clinical skills we would love for you to apply for the role.

We are not far from the main train station and are close to bus stops that serve South West London.

Main duties of the job

The role

The role would be working under supervision of the Practice Nurses to the practices guidelines and protocols. Our healthcare assistant will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of patient care.

Duties & Responsibilities Include;

ECGs

Phlebotomy

Urinalaysis

Ear Irrigation

Blood Pressure Checks

Diabetic foot checks

Fitting 24hr blood pressure monitors

NHS Healthchecks

Assisting with minor surgery

Assisting with sexual health services (coil fittings)

Helping with ordering medical supplies

Administration of vaccines including B12s, shingles & seasonal flu.

Previous experience within general practice is preferred, as well as knowledge of Emis clinical system. We would support learning and development if you were new to the healthcare assistant role and develop your skills within the practice.
