Job summary

Our current IT Support/Administrator is sadly moving onto new pastures. They leave very big shoes to fill but if you have experience of EMIS, IT and working in a GP Practice you may be the person we are looking for.

Full or part time, you must be able to work a minimum of 25 hours a week, we do offer compressed hours to full time employees.

Main duties of the job

Reporting to the Manager for Service Delivery key areas of responsibility include:

1. IT support

2. EMIS appointment schedule

3. Patient Recall

4. Workflow/Docman

About us

As Worcester City is growing, so too have we as a practice with a patient list size of over 19,800 and so we are flexing up with an additional administration role to support patient care.

As a teaching and training practice, staff development and training is important to our ethos with many of the team undertaking external qualifications, one of our team recently completing their Business Administration Level 3. So this would be an opportunity if you wished to combine a working role with obtaining an additional qualification.

We are active members of Worcester City PCN, with Dr Laura Samuel being one of the 2 Clinical Directors.

We have regular practice and team meetings, and whole team PLT afternoons.

The management team includes the Jayne Folwarski, Practice Manager ably supported by 2 deputies, for Service Delivery, Bradley Swift and Operations, Sabita Thukral, Reception Manager, Vicky Wheeldon and Lead Nurse, Helen Carney. As expected the management team have open offices and nurture a supportive working environment.

Job responsibilities

1. IT support

Responsibility for the set up and support for staff emails, logins and SMART cards.

Troubleshooting hardware and technical issues including toner replacements and stock control

Supporting IT installations and office moves Link for reporting IT issues to IT helpdesk Website and waiting room screens maintenance.

2. Patient Recall

Responsibility for medicines monitoring highlighting patients requiring recall and monitoring.

3. Workflow/Docman

To support the practice in higher level workflow/Docman using practice protocols

Supporting staff training

Read & triage electronic letters (EDTs) received via Docman & EMIS and clinical letters received via post

Ensure anything urgent is dealt with by the Duty Doctor

File to the patients notes without further action if appropriate or add code a diagnosis/procedure and then workflow to a GP if any action is needed

To provide specialist coding advice to clinicians and information staff on request.

To manage and maintain the effectiveness of, and to identify possible improvements in, the Clinical Coding procedures and protocols.
