Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated
and experienced Treatment Room Administrator with a clinical background to join
our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our
treatment room, supporting both patients and clinical staff. Traditionally this
role has been fulfilled by an experienced practice nurse but have found
recruitment difficult so we have opted for a more managerial style post to suit
the needs of the business.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the treatment room.
- Coordinate and manage patient appointments, ensuring efficient scheduling for the team this will include development of the appointment book to a more efficient, transparent system for staff and auditing purposes.
- Provide clinical support to healthcare professionals, including preparation of treatment areas.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality.
- Help maintain high levels of IPC and Cold chain
- Run audits on clinical care and administrative aspects of the Treatment room
- Mentor and support Treatment room staff
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
- Manage inventory and order supplies for the treatment room alongside current processes.
- Liaise with Senior Management Team and Partners to ensure seamless patient care.

At Milman Road & Kennet Surgery: We are a high achieving QOF practice looking after 20,000 patients across 2 sites. The practice's main site is a large purpose built premises that has recently undergone extensive refurbishment.
We have 5 partners and 4 salaried GPs as well as a fantastic team of allied health professionals which include a Pharmacist, Paramedics and Nurse Practitioners and a strong established treatment room team.
We have an innovative hybrid appointment system looking separate same day and routine care providing high level of efficiency and satisfaction for GPs as well as continuity of care for patients.
We are a dynamic forward thinking fun practice who are at the centre of primary care development in South Reading. We are a leading practice in the local Alliance and the lead practice for the PCN.
We have a Friendly Efficient Admin support team that work toward helping reducing the administrative burden for our clinical team.
This role involves working across Reading Holybrook PCN practices, including: Broadstreet Health Centre, Milman Road & Kennet Surgery, Abbey Medical Centre.

- Preferably a senior practice nurse or equivalent experience eg district nursing or tissue viability or ICB experience.
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in using healthcare management software EMIS Web preferable
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to patient care.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a treatment room or similar healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of NHS systems and protocols.
- Experience in managing and leading a team.
