Practice Nurse

Job summary

Ivry Street Medical Practice has a great opportunity for a part time Practice Nurse, with hours to be discussed and agreed with our Lead Nurse - we anticipate a minimum of 21 hours but could extend to 30 hours for the right candidate.

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic team member to join our small team of Practice Nurses and become one of the family. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication and team working skills.

Main duties of the job

Working under the direct line management of our Lead Nurse, with supervision of our GP Partners, and in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the Practice Nurse will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of patient care, which includes:

• Health promotion
• Chronic disease management
• Hypertension management
• New patient reviews
• Learning Disability checks
• Wound care
• Contraception and Coronary Heart Disease
• Removal of sutures
• Travel Risk assessment, advice and immunisations
• Routine injections and vaccinations
• Child immunisations

Ivry Street is a large Medical Practice on the outskirts of Ipswich town centre, close to the popular Christchurch Park. We have a patient population of circa 13,000 patients. We are a reputable training practice.

Our team consists of 4 GP partners, 4 salaried GPs, 4 practice nurses, 2 HCAs, 2 physician associates, 1 advanced nurse practitioner, 1 paramedic, 3 mental health workers, 2 social prescribers, a pharmacy team and our admin and reception teams.
