Job summary
To work as part of the reception team,
contributing to the efficient running of the practice and providing outstanding
customer care at all times. To provide a comprehensive reception service,
supporting the primary work areas (telephone and front-desk reception).
Main duties of the job
To provide
patients with an efficient and effective reception service which includes:
Making patient appointments, same
day telephone, routine and cancellations.
Giving routine test results.
Taking home visit requests.
Booking emergency calls on to the
duty doctor list.
General enquiries.
Resolving issues.
Processing prescription and dealing
with prescription queries.
To complete all associated
administration in an accurate and timely manner.
To provide outstanding customer care
at all times, both internally and externally.
Checking and signing for deliveries
and ensuring they reach the correct person.
Managing delivery and collection
processes for phlebotomy samples.
To provide cover for staff breaks
and holidays as required.
To have a thorough knowledge of all
Practice procedures.

protocols.

The post-holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others health, safety and security as defined in the Practice Health & Safety Policy, to include:
- Using personal security systems within the workplace according to Practice guidelines.
- Identifying the risks involved in work activities and undertaking such activities in a way that manages those risks.
- Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills.
- Reporting potential risks identified.
The post-holder will participate in any training programme implemented by the Practice as part of this employment, such training to include:
- Participation in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development.
