Our small semi-rural GP practice in the heart of Cumbria is seeking two enthusiastic salaried GP's to join our team for 3-4 sessions each, per week.

Please note that due to our small size (~3700 patients), a willingness to supervise and mentor other clinical staff in-person is an essential attribute for this role.
Main duties of the job
To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract. Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
The working week will include a variety of clinical sessions with pre-bookable appointment clinics, Duty GP/Triage GP and Home Visits. Our allocated Duty GP/Triage GP deal with lab results/prescription queries/ documents and letters to allow for GPs to focus on maximising time with patients.

Job responsibilities
Provide
a full range of medical services as defined in the core GMC contract,
additional, and enhanced services contracts along with agreed non-NHS work
(medicals, reports etc.).
Undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations,
telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, and dealing
with correspondence in a timely fashion
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to
presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care
workers within the organisation
Assessing the health care needs of patients with
undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients
and in line with current practice disease management protocols including
providing health education
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to a high
standard
Complete referrals where appropriate including for any suggested
diagnostic testing and report on results to patients as required
Prescribe in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary
It is expected that the post-holder will be expected to
undertake all the duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working
within Primary Care
Attend team meetings and other clinical meetings as necessary
Provide clinical support for colleagues including assisting with
the mentoring and training of colleagues as part of the Practice's commitment
to lifelong-learning.
Comply with all relevant organisation policies and procedures
including but not limited to confidentiality, data protection, health &
safety, infection control etc.
Undertake mandatory training as determined by the Practice
Reflect on personal practice through SEA, appraisals and patient
complaints.
