JOB PURPOSE

Were currently looking to welcome one or two new Patient Co-ordinators to our inclusive and supportive team. Our practice has been described by patients as a first class health centre where staff are kind and caring.
We welcome applicants with reception and/or administrative experience. NHS experience is desirable but not essential.
Working hours:
-Flexible shifts between 7:45am and 6:30pm, Monday to Friday
-Some occasional Saturday and evening (until 8pm) shifts may be required
We are looking to cover approximately 37.5 hours per week, which could be filled by one full-time role or split between two part-time roles. A minimum of 20 hours over at least 3 weekdays is required.
Main duties of the job
DUTIES

Support patients by navigating them to the most appropriate clinician or team member.

Carry out a range of general clerical and office tasks, with a focus on front desk reception and managing the switchboard.

Complete allocated administrative duties accurately and efficiently.

Maintain high standards of customer service for all visitors to the health centre.

Ensure patient records and all clinically related information are kept strictly confidential at all times.

Manage appointments, respond to information requests from other professionals, and provide appropriate information as needed.

Handle incoming post and deliveries, distribute reports and copy records, and collect payments where applicable.

Provide clerical support to other areas of the practice as required.

Assist with opening and closing the health centre when scheduled.

Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required.
Future Developments: This role is expected to evolve to include part of the working week based in our new PCN Prescribing Hub. This will involve processing prescription requests and responding to medication queries in line with standard operating procedures, under the guidance of clinical colleagues.

We operate a personal list system, where patients are assigned to a specific GP for their ongoing care. This approach promotes continuity, strengthens the patient-GP relationship, and supports more efficient care by allowing GPs to work with a familiar group of patients.
