Job summary

We are looking for a part-time Secretary to work 25.5 hours per week, over 3 days Monday, Tuesday and Friday 8am to 5pm with a half hour lunch.

Benefits will include 4 Weeks Annual Leave, NHS Pension Scheme and Uniform supplied.

Bethesda Medical Centre is a friendly, forward thinking, high achieving Surgery based in a modern purpose built Surgery.

We have a population of 19'100 patients and offer a wide range of Services to our own patients and provider services to patients across East Kent.

Job Title: Medical Secretary

Accountable to: Practice Secretaries

Responsible for: All secretarial activities required to ensure the efficient running of the Practice.

Terms of Reference: To assist the Practice Secretaries in the provision of secretarial services for the Practice.

Main responsibilities:

• Provide typewritten documents from audio typing/long hand as required by GPs or Practice Manager
• Liaise with medical secretaries and other medical professionals as required by GPs.
• Liaise with patients with respect to medical care.
• Take minutes of meetings as required.
• Undertaking any other duties which may be assigned by the GPs or Practice Secretaries.

About us

At Bethesda we have 4 partners & 6 salaried GPs and approximately 19,500 patients. We have 7 Acute Care Team members, 4 Practice Nurses, 4 HCAs, a Phlebotomist, Clinical Pharmacist, 2 Mental Health Nurses and a Frailty Team.

We also on a weekly basis have visits from Ophthalmologists, Physiotherapists, Headache Specialists and Social Prescribers who all visit the surgery to see our patients.

We also have an administration team of approximately 50 members of staff.
