Job summary

To support the Partnership in the timely capture and recording of patient data, using online, portal-based and local clinical systems.

Support the implementation and maintenance of Information Governance, Primary Care Information Technology Systems and Service, Data control and our Public Digital Presence and Image.

Provide telecom, IT systems, hardware and application software support and training to our practice workforce, across both our sites in Bradwell.

Main duties of the job

Ensure accurate processing and coding of patient data. Leading and operational management of information flows into, through and from the practice. Oversee monitoring and action of workflow processes. Content management for intranet, websites and social media platforms. Help deliver various Practice, Primary Care, CCG digital Initiatives and projects. Setup, remove, control appropriate system/smartcard access for Practice and PCN and external healthcare staff and organisations. Provide training for users in relevant areas and subjects pertaining to all software systems in use. Attend internal and external meetings in relation to business opportunities and digital initiative projects. Have an overall understanding of all IT systems, and ensure IT is uesed effectively to support the work and development of the practice. Liaise with 3rd party service providers for hardware, software and telephony issues. Ensure compliance with data protection rules. Motivate, support and monitor staff in the use of IT, oversee, organise and evaluate IT training. Ensure effective data security back up, maintenance and contribute to the practice's business continuity plan. Development of new systems and use of technology to enhance and develop the business and its processes.

About us

The Millwood Partnership has 7 partners and 3 salaried GPs. We are a forward thinking practice who have been a digital exemplar for the CCG over the past 18 months. We have laptops, docking stations and some of our staff work remotely. We are installing a new soft phone system. We enjoy the challenge of technology and embrace the benefits it can bring to us. We have several teams within the practice as well as our GPs we have a nurse practitioner team, a nursing team, a HCA team, a pharmacy team, a home visiting team, an admin team, a reception team and a management team. We have a 19.5k list size. We are a teaching practice and have registrars as well as students from UEA. We have a great team ethic and our recent CQC inspection rated us as good.

· Ensure that the various public communication feeds and patient campaigns for the Practice (PIP screens, social media, text messaging) are accurate and timely in conjunction with the Practice’s communications lead.

· Content management for intranet, websites and social media platforms.

· Help deliver various Practice, Primary Care, CCG digital initiatives and projects.

· Maintain an understanding of the legislation and policies governing information management and governance evidenced through attendance at mandatory Information governance training sessions and/or completion of e-learning.

· Create clinical system reports as and when required for the senior management team, clinicians and admin.

  • Support the practice Information Governance lead, including ensuring that good information governance principles are in place and understood throughout the practice and for updating Freedom of Information, Data Protection and legal compliance aspects of information governance
  • Liaising with the Data Protection Officer (DPO) to ensure that the practice is appropriately advised and provided with a comprehensive Data Protection service.
  • Responsibility for computer systems including organising any maintenance and developments to the system
  • Ensure compliance with Data protection rules

  • Intermediate knowledge of SystmOne

  • Knowledge of the UK Data Protection Act and UK GDPR.
  • Experience of analysing problems and providing solutions.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
