Job summary

Lea Vale Medical Group have an exciting opportunity for a friendly and enthusiastic person who has experience of working in customer services to join our reception team.

You will be predominantly based in the call centre as the first point of contact for patient enquiries so we are looking for someone who has a confident and empathetic phone manner.

Previous NHS experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

Working hours are: Monday - Friday 1:30pm-7pm

Main duties of the job

You will have great communication skills, excellent attention to detail, strong IT skills and will work collaboratively with the practice team to meet the needs of patients. Our reception team are the first people our patients speak to on the phone or see on the front desk when they arrive and we expect them to receive the best patient experience. We are therefore looking for someone with a caring approach and attitude and who is hard working and motivated.

We are busy medical practice located in Luton Town Centre, serving just over 30,000 patients and have been rated outstanding by the CQC.

Job responsibilities

Reception Duties

· Make appointments for patients to see GPs, nurses or others.

· Answer the telephones and make connections as appropriate.

· Provide patients, visitors, etc. with basic information and act as a resource, where more help is required.

· Operate clinical computer system and maintain high quality data entry.

· Communicate with other agencies like transport, phlebotomy, hospital etc.

· File prescriptions, letters and documents in alphabetic order in appropriate place.

· Make sure patient information is entered accurately and stored confidentially.

· Record on the SystmOne system on a daily basis outgoing prescriptions.
