Main duties of the job
You will be required to provide General Medical Services by the way of surgeries, home visits and relevant administrative work and other such duties outside the surgery as are required under the Regulations and which are reasonable delegated to you
During your defined hours of work you will provide NHS general medical services to registered patients on the Lea Vales list of patients within the catchment area.

Job responsibilities
Responding to medical problems presented by patients on the practice registered list, including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and referral where appropriate.
Providing appropriate systems and care for the management of common chronic medical conditions eg asthma and diabetes and coronary heart disease.
Providing appropriate preventative health care and advice within the context of primary health care.
Attending primary health care team meetings and other meetings as may be necessary for your duties.
Auditing and maintaining critical analysis of own clinical performance and recommend or make changes as appropriate.
Providing patient related administrative and non-clinical duties needed for the delivery of general medical services
Carry out other duties outside the surgery as are required under the NHS Regulations and which are reasonably delegated to you, e.g. Home visits, Mental Health Assessment.
Provide general medical services to the residents of St. Mary’s nursing home on a rotational basis and attend to the relevant clinical administration and issuing of repeat prescriptions.
Maintain patients’ clinical records in line with the practice policy on Computer Data entry and maintenance of manual records.
Engaging in appropriate educational activity in order to maintain clinical and managerial competence and performance.
