Job summary

Westrop Medical Practice are seeking enthusiastic and energetic individuals to fulfil a role based within our expanding busy reception teams. This role involves daily face to face and telephone contact with patients, arranging of appointments and follow up of patient related tasks. The practice aims to develop the role by offering further training to the right candidate to fulfil a role in supporting and navigating patients to the most appropriate care for their needs.

This position would especially suit applicants with previous experience in a primary care setting with an interest in maintaining excellent patient relationships. We are looking for someone with flexibility, as there will be a requirement to work across all our sites. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and computer literacy skills are essential.

Main duties of the job

Duties will include all aspects of reception work in a busy GP surgery. Face to face at the front desk, dealing with a high volume of phone calls and back office admin. A caring, friendly and diplomatic disposition is a must.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Operations Manager

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

An understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality.

An ability to use own judgement, resourcefulness, common sense. A proactive approach to change.

Excellent communication skills.

Be able to work additional and flexible hours.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Booking and updating appointments

Dealing with incoming calls from patients, doctors and hospital departments.

Liaising with patients, doctors and hospital departments.

Administrative support to the Practice as appropriate.

The successful candidate should preferably have:

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages

High attention to detail

Good interpersonal skills

Flexible approach

Team player with ability to work without direct supervision

Previous Reception/Customer Service experience

Relevant qualification would be beneficial however not essential.

30 to 37.5 hours per week
