Job summary

To provide courteous and effective reception/

Responsible for providing reception support to the practice including back office support ensuring the office runs with a degree of accuracy and efficiency.

We are awell established forward thinking GMS practice comprising 5 GP partners, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner Partner, 3 Emergency Care Pratitioner's, 3 Practice Nurses, 1 HCA and a phlebotomist supported by an excellent reception/admin team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Receptionist

SALARY: £11.50 p/h

PRACTICE: Zetland Medical Practice

LOCATION: Windy Hill Lane Marske and any other location requested by the practice

HOURS OF WORK: Up to 24 hours per week - days and times negotiable (30 min unpaid lunch and 2 x 15 min paid breaks) and staff may when appropriate be expected to work outside those hours or at weekends if opening times at the practice change. Post holder may need to be included in a late night rota, approx. one in ten weeks. Additional hours of opening would mainly be at Windy Hill Lane, Marske but staff would be expected to work to the hours allocated at any other site associated with the practice.

JOB PURPOSE: To provide courteous and effective reception/

telephone/back office duties for the practice, ensuring an efficient and professional image is maintained at all times.

DIMENSIONS: Responsible for providing reception support to

the practice including back office support ensuring the office runs with a degree of accuracy and efficiency.

KEY AREAS

Receiving patients in a pleasant and efficient manner, ensuring office procedures are followed. (appointments/enquiries etc)

Telephone making appointments, taking messages answering queries.

Disseminating home visit requirements.

Amend medication on computer following GP instruction.

Arrange repeat prescriptions for GP signature.

Expertise and knowledge to liaise with the computer help line to resolve any breakdown thereby developing a good working knowledge of the system.

Keeping up to date on computer enhancement being able to receive in and distribute to GPs lab results for acceptance

Preparation of various records for session/filing after use.

Photocopying

Scanning

Read coding, data input, searches

Smear administration

Registrations

Summarising

Opening, closing premises deactivating/activating alarm system.

Typing letters/referrals to patients/consultants, memos and other basis correspondence, general secretarial work

Choose and Book referrals

Be a good team member fit in, be flexible and contribute to the changing needs of the office.

Ensure office policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Any other duties as specified by the Practice Manager/Deputy Practice Manager.

Ensuring an efficient and professional image of the practice is maintained at all times.

Maintaining good relations with a wide range of people.

Interviews will be held at Zetland Medical Practice on the Thursday 20th June 2024.
