About us

We are a well established forward thinking GMS practice comprising 6 GP partners, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner Partner, 1 Clinical Pharmacist, 3 Emergency Care Practitioners, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Registered Nurse Associate ,1 HCA and 1 phlebotomist supported by an excellent reception/admin team.

Zetland Medical Practice is a training practice and we currently train GP registrars and medical students.

We are a SystmOne practice and a member of Redcar Coastal PCN.

We are a high achieving QOF (Quality Outcomes Framework) and IIF (Investment and Impact Fund) practice

Job description

Job responsibilities

HOURS OF WORK: To be agreed with the post holder. Flexibility is required to ensure continuity of service, hours between 8.00am and 6.00pm and staff may when appropriate be expected to work outside those hours or at weekends if opening times at the practice change. Additional hours of opening would mainly be at Windy Hill Lane, Marske but staff would be expected to work to the hours allocated at any other site associated with the practice.

Practice recalls

QOF/clinical audit negatives (data quality to follow with experience)

monitor clinic audit regularly and action the negatives where possible

audit analysis, tackle weak areas looking for 100% achievement in all areas

reminders to partners regarding QOF areas which require their intervention and correct coding updates

work with the Care Co-ordinators with regular discussions particularly December to March

Chronic Disease annual reviews/ enhanced service vaccinations - ensuring nurses's clinics are filled

Sort incoming mail -scan/code - deal with and allocate appropriately

Monitor Ardens updates throughout the year, looking for the most recent updates to QOF codes/business rules.

Medical Reports

Significant Event/Clinical Meetings Taking and recording minutes of bi-monthly meetings, and updating the DNAR/death register.

Searches and reports

create and run searches for internal and external audit purposes

use groups for bulk correspondence/bulk coding changes

Flu

Liaise with nursing team re flu clinics. Edit into books. Trailing message added to repeat prescription reorder forma. Admin briefed on adding reminders to prescriptions. Notices on windows. Reminders to district nurses. Forms to fridges for recording vacs removed by district nursing team, monitor and report update monthly. Towards end of campaign printing of reminder letters. Lists to admin/telephone numbers

Public Health/Smears

Oversee and ensure enough Public Health invitations are sent out. Ensure smear targets are met

Create folders/files for shared documents/protocols and updates. Save information as and when requested by clinicians to shared folder

Practice Audit system - to maintain folder re clinical audits and diary. Alert GPs when re-audits are due

Covering reception in the event of sickness

This list is not exhaustible and duties will include any other task allocated by the Practice Manager and Partners
