Job summary

Ramsbury & Wanborough Surgery are seeking an experienced Practice Nurse Band 6 (Band 5 would be considered).

Full or part time hours available, we are keen to support further training and development within the role.

Main duties of the job

This role will provide a high standard of nursing care to our patients.  The duties will include all tasks normally undertaken by a Treatment Room Nurse and additional tasks as agreed by management appropriate to the role and qualifications/training competencies.

You will provide health advice, screening and promotion at every opportunity. Alongside providing routine nurse lead care you will support patients in managing long term conditions.

Job description

Job responsibilities

This role is a developing role and it is envisaged that the post holder will undertake further training and acquire new skills and competencies.

Job Responsibilities

Assist in and perform routine treatment room tasks related to patient care as directed, such tasks may include:

· Wound care

· Removal of sutures

· New patient medicals

· NHS Health checks

· Venepuncture

· Blood pressure measurements

· Injections (B12, Shingles etc)

· Chaperoning

· Assisting with Minor Surgery/Coils

· Following agreed clinical/safeguarding protocols

Further training will be provided to undertake the below if competency not already obtained:

· Cervical Cytology

· Adult/Child Immunisations

· Travel Vaccinations

· Sexual Health/Contraception

· Advanced Wound care

An interest in respiratory and/or diabetes is desirable.
