We offer the prospect of being right at the heart of shaping and designing services to over 20000 patients from one of our sites across the North of Bristol. Main duties of the job
Our ideal candidate will have experience of working in a primary care setting along with excellent clinical, consultation and interpersonal skills.
Strong IT skills and effective time management are essential in this busy role. You will be expected to undertake a variety of duties to include surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
Supporting the practice in achieving QoF, enhanced services and other contractual requirements
It is essential that you :
Have full GMC Registration, without restriction
Are on the Medical Performers List registration
Have appropriate defence indemnity
Are eligible to practice independently in the UK

Job responsibilities
Undertake a variety of duties to include surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
Assess and manage the health care needs of patients
Promote self-care and management for patients, particularly those with long-term conditions
Undertake preventative work with patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health
Refer to other care providers as appropriate in line with practice procedures
Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes
Prescribe appropriately in line with practice and local formulary guidance where clinically appropriate
Undertake repeat prescribing in line with practice procedures
Supporting the practice in achieving QoF, enhanced services and other contractual requirements
Administration and HR
Comply with external regulatory requirements eg CQC
Attend practice meetings and regular clinical meetings as agreed with the partners as well as PPG meetings if required.
Engage with channels of communication between partners, non-clinical and clinical staff
Undertake appropriate clinically based CPD
Participate in appraisal and revalidation as required of all GP's
Adhere to agreed procedures and protocols within the practice
Providing cover for other GP's holidays and other absences
