Job summary
We require a caring, enthusiastic and motivated GP for a salaried post, 8
clinical sessions per week, for an immediate start, willing
to take part in all aspects of surgery activity.
The clinical
sessions are a mixture of telephone, video and face to face surgeries. We are a
light surgery regarding home visits.
Manor House Surgery is a well-established, stable partnership
surgery with an excellent, supportive and helpful IT and administration staff.
The practice
has a highly effective nursing and health care assistant team to assist in the
daily delivery of patient care. We have established nurse led chronic disease
clinics.
We are an established,
forward thinking, excellence of teaching practice of medical students and all
grades junior doctors.
The practice
is based across two sites in Glossop & Hadfield; sites are situated in
small villages with beautiful scenery on the edge of the Peak District, yet
close to Manchester.
The practice
proudly offers additional services to all patients including Ultrasound,
Echocardiogram, Dermatology, Joint Injection, Minor Surgery, Specialist Skin
Surgery and Family Planning for the wider community.

Salaried GPs are pensioned in
the NHS pension scheme as assistant practitioners using the GP dynamisation
pension calculation method.

leave entitlements as per BMA guidance. 1 week of study leave pro rata.

Salaried GP – 8 sessions per

Hours of work
Full time is defined as 8
clinical sessions per week.
Your job will be 4 full days.
The surgery will require the working days to be Tuesdays, Wednesdays Thursdays
and Fridays as full days. Days may be changed in some circumstances but only
after mutual agreement.
The work will consist of the
usual day to day activities of a General Practitioner.
Surgeries would
generally consist of 16 appointments in the morning and 15 appointments in the
afternoon. Appointments consist of a mixture of face to face, video and
telephone appointments. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will
participate in the on call rota on one or two occasions per week. The on call
consists of one session, either morning or afternoon, and we have an on call
buddy system where two clinicians work simultaneously.
The Salaried GP will be
responsible for a fair proportion of administrative work arising from
consultations.
Salary
and Pension
Salary would be paid monthly
in arrears. The post is a professional role and overtime arising from a general
clinical session is not payable. Salaried GPs are pensioned in the NHS pension
scheme as assistant practitioners using the GP dynamisation pension calculation
method. All GPs are covered by CNSGP but we encourage all practitioners to
purchase additional medical indemnity cover. Professional fees must be provided
by the employee as it is tax deductible.
Annual and
other Leave
6 weeks annual leave pro rata
per year. Statutory and
public holidays leave entitlements as per BMA guidance. 1 week of study
leave pro rata (refer employment contract). Doctors will generally take this in
blocks of one whole week. No more than 2.5 GPs may take holiday simultaneously.
Holidays are to be booked at least 2 months in advance when possible. Sickness
absence is as per practice policy. Compassionate absences will always be
considered. There is no entitlement to paid carers’ or dependent’s leave.
Maternity leave
and guarantee of continued employment will be given, subject to current BMA
guidance.
Continuing
Professional Development
We are keen for GP’s to develop extra
knowledge and skills. Course fees may be paid by the practice – assuming that
the course fits in with the Practice’s plan (refer to employment contract).

of contract and notice
The contract will be for one
year initially, subject to review and extension at the end of 12 months.
