Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a HCA to join our friendly and supportive nursing team team at The Oaks Medical Centre. You will join our advanced nurse practitioner, two experienced practice nurses, trainee nursing associate and two healthcare assistants. We also work with a full complement of PCN ARRS staff including our pharmacy technician, physiotherapist and paramedic. The ideal candidate will be reliable with a flexible can do attitude to work, and must be able to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills alongside their clinical skills.

Main duties of the job

  • Conduct weight and height measurements, test and record blood pressure, temperature, pulse and blood sugar levels
  • The testing and result recording of clinical specimens
  • Provide assistance in minor operations and coil clinics ensuring patient care
  • Undertaking NHS Health Checks
  • Completing annual reviews
  • Undertaking ECGs
  • Carry out routine wound care and dressings in accordance with Practice guidelines
  • The ongoing cleaning and sterilisation of clinical equipment and working surfaces, preparing treatment rooms prior to use
  • Ensure infection control procedures are followed
  • Undertake ear syringing
  • Phlebotomyservices
  • Carry out home visits
  • Assist GP in the running of group consultations
  • Vaccine / cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
  • Undertake vaccinations and immunisations in accordance with Practice guidelines including flu clinicswith supervision and PSD
  • The inputting of information onto the Practice clinical system
  • The checking and recording of medical supplies on receipt
  • Ensure adequate stock levels for nursing team
  • Any other reasonable duties which may be requested from time-to-time

Performing tasks prescribed and delegated by the clinical team, working to agreed protocols and within defined competencies.

  • Conduct weight and height measurements, test and record blood pressure, temperature, pulse and blood sugar levels
