Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a NMC Registered Nurse to join Hillview Medical Centre as a Senior Nurse. Working in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct, the post-holder will provide assessment, treatment, screening, health education services and advice to patients.
The post-holder will ensure that practice protocols and guidelines are current and embedded in the nursing teams every day practice, and personally providing nursing treatments to patients both independently and in participation with nurse colleagues and general practitioners.
The post-holder will have the required level of training and competence and will work within patient group directions where these are available. A nurse with prescribing qualifications will use them appropriately.

Duties and Responsibilities
The post-holder will work in accordance with the NMC Code, delivering high-quality, patient-centred nursing care within primary care.
Clinical Responsibilities
Manage and monitor chronic disease patients, developing and reviewing individual care plans. Undertake assessment, diagnosis, treatment and therapeutic monitoring. Identify abnormalities and initiate appropriate action or referral. Deliver routine and complex wound care (including Doppler where competent). Conduct health checks, cervical screening and monitoring tasks. Provide travel health advice and administer adult and childhood immunisations. Act as a first point of contact, working autonomously or with GPs. Assist with minor procedures, provide ear care within scope of practice, and support patients with mental health needs, monitoring prescribed therapies.
Health Promotion & Safeguarding
Deliver holistic health education and preventative care. Undertake risk assessments, identify safeguarding concerns, and escalate appropriately. Support treatment adherence and lifestyle modification.
Governance, Safety & Leadership
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to policies, PGDs and professional standards. Promote infection control and safe management of specimens, sharps, waste, PPE and equipment. Identify and manage risks. Support team development, participate in clinical meetings, and maintain professional development and NMC revalidation.

Provide evidence-based diabetes assessment, management, and review for patients with Type 1, Type 2, and other forms of diabetes

Support insulin initiation, titration, and monitoring in line with local and national guidance
