Job summary

The successful candidate will work as an autonomous General Medical Practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract.

Furthermore, the post-holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with our multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job

Provide high quality patient care

Carry out surgery, telephone and face to face consultations

Liaise with other team members and organisations involved in patient care and respond promptly to queries

Investigate and refer patients as appropriate in line with current guidance

Deal promptly with results and correspondence

collect data for audit and QoF purposes

Excellent communication with patients and carers

Attend clinical, clinical governance and educational meetings

Strong team player

Strong collaborative working relationships with partners and all team members

Effectively manage own time, workload and resources

Well managed clinical sessions with a mix of telephone, e-consult and face to face consultations. Each session has a fixed number of consultations, no extras are added. This is important for us to support our clinicians by ensuring that a manageable workload is applied.

Work with other team members and and external organisations' involved in patient care.

Investigate and refer patients as appropriate in line with current guidance

Provide cover as required when other GPs are on leave

Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Ability to work with limited supervision. IT proficiency and familiarity with primary care clinical systems (the practice use TPP SystmOne). Excellent time keeping . Most importantly we are looking for motivated clinicians who enjoy working within a large multidisciplinary environment with a fun, pro-active team who enjoy coming to work!
