Main duties of the job
Day in the life of a Medical Secretary
- Raising e-referrals and bookings, routine and urgent referrals
- Chasing referrals and answering patient queries via phone
- Running reports inline with CQC audits
Experience and skills in the following areas are essential:
- S1 Experience
- Musthave previous experience of Medical Secretary, including knowledge of choose and book, routine and urgent referrals and medical notes.
- High attention to detail
- Flexible
- The post holder must have good inter-personal and organisational skills, be able to manage and prioritise a heavy workload and be able to work under pressure, both on their own and as part of a team.
- Computer skills are essential
- Excellent telephone manner
- Good knowledge and understanding of confidentiality
- Use own initiative
