Job summary

To be responsible for undertaking a wide range of administrative duties to support the Practice Team in the effective running of the practice to the required standard and meeting the objectives of the practice

Main duties of the job

  • Processing clinical data by work flowing to surgery clinicians
  • To investigate and process patient Out of Area (OOA)
  • To process patient registrations, deductions and amendments working with PCSE
  • To process discharge summaries & out of hours notifications from the hospital
  • To process the death protocol within the practice
  • Administrative support to the practice team as directed by the Lead Secretary/Administrator.
  • Processing clinical data entry according to surgery protocol
  • Running searches on patient data and sending results to surgery teams
  • Communicating with patients including sending text messages and emails
  • Take part in suitable training courses as necessary to facilitate your role as agreed with your team leader.
  • Carry out any additional relevant duties to maintain the efficient running of the administration office and the practice as agreed with your team leader.

Leckhampton is a GP surgery based in Cheltenham with approx 14,000 patients.

We have a friendly team consisting of administrative and clinical personnel all working together for the good of our patients.

this role will support our administrative team with the day to day running of the surgery.

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
  • GCSE (or equivalent) English and Maths at Grade C or above
  • NVQ Level 2 IT qualification or equivalent
  • NVQ Level 2 Business Administration qualification or equivalent
  • Experience of working with the general public

  • Experience of clinical reporting
  • Experience of working within General Practice & the NHS
