Job summary
The role is to manage and coordinate
all aspects of organisation finances, optimising efficiency and financial
performance, ensuring the organisation achieves its long-term strategic
objectives whilst maximising income and reducing expenditure.
Main duties of the job
Oversee recording all income and expenditure
using Sage Line 50 accountancy software package. Perform monthly and annual routines. Prepare accounts to trial balance stage at
year end.
Prepare a monthly VAT return and ensure it is
submitted to HMRC within the required time frames.
Prepare and maintain an annual practice budget
and forecast and present to partners each month
Oversee monthly PMS statements to ensure
expected payments are received. Raise complaints with PCSE and track as
required
Reconcile monies received from patients for
prescription fees to PPA statement monthly
Review income received each month for ES and
compare with prior year to identify changes. Ensure any changes are as expected
Oversee and complete the payroll including pensions each month
Work with the accountants to ensure partners
drawings are at a level which will minimise the need for cash input by any
partner at account equalisation
Liaise and maintain good relationships with
external agencies i.e. Accountants, Bank, NHS NYY or other agencies as
appropriate.
Maintain and update personal knowledge of
general practitioner finance and HMRC regulations
Provide financial data, statistics, business
case or models for the Practice Manager as required
Provide finance support for PCN as directed by
Practice Manager
Attend
and actively participate in practice management meetings
Accurately
monitor cash flow, forecast and predict workflow corresponding to income
About us
he Practice is located in Whitby and has a branch site in Robin Hoods Bay. We have around 13,500 patients.
Currently there are 3 partners supported by a team of several salaried GP's, Advanced Care Practitioners, several nurse prescribers and Practice Nurses, HCA's, Pharmacists, Pharmacy technicians, a dispensing team, care coordinators and a committed admin and management team.
We are a training practice that works with Hull and York Medical School and currently support Year 4 medical students, GP Registrars and F2's.
We have been rated Good by CQC and are a consistently high QOF achieving practice.
Our clinicians have meetings built into the rota daily for half an hour to be able to discuss any ongoing cases and ask questions of colleagues.
The practice is a very desirable place to work with a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. It is very important to the partners that this is maintained and developed.
There is a good social aspect to the team and we always have a Christmas party and a summer BBQ with several events in between.
