Job summary

Part time Receptionist Hours:Monday to Friday 12.00 midday to 4.00pm

We are rural medical centre providing an excellent service to our patients and are looking for a part time receptionist to join our small very friendly team we are situated in a pretty Northamptonshire village

Previous experience of working in general practice, whilst beneficial, is not essentialhowever you must have experience of working as a receptionist.

Main duties of the job

Your duties will include answering the phone and dealing with patient queries, booking appointments for patients.Handing our dispensed medication to patients. You should have a polite and empathetic nature and be willing to get stuck in assisting your colleagues where necessary.

Job Description Part-Time Receptionist

JOB TITLE:

Part TIME RECEPTIONIST

RESPONSIBLE TO:

Reception Manager

JOB PURPOSE:

Greeting patients and visitors in an efficient and courteous manner

Provide an effective and polite telephone enquiry service

Proactively communicate information between relevant patients, doctors and professionals

Booking patient appointments, handing out medications and prescriptions

Assisting admin team with referrals and insurance documentation

Scanning documents

Photocopying, filing

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.

Greet patients and visitors to the practice.

2.

Book in patients and visitors in line with practice appointments and visitors procedures.

3.

Respond and/or redirect all patient and visitor requests accordingly.

4.

Booking, amending and cancelling patient appointments.

5.

Answering incoming telephone calls, ensuring calls are documented and redirected accordingly.

6.

Ensure up-to-date maintenance of both computerised and manual filing systems (i.e. patient notes).

7.

Hand out prescriptions/medications to patients.

8.

Deal with patient queries.

9.

Assist the admin team with chasing referrals and sending out documentation relating to insurance claims and medicals.

10.

Undertake computerised mandatory training.

11.

Undertake annual Basic Life Support training.

12.

Ensure answering machine service for out of hours information is directed appropriately switched to answer machine at close of practice and back to surgery each morning.

13.

Attend staff meetings contributing ideas where appropriate.

14.
