Main duties of the job
The main Nurse
Associate duties we are looking for include adult immunisations (under the approprite PSD) NHS health
checks, Prediabetes education, IM injections, Cervical Cytology and Long term
condition reviews. We are an innovative and supportive practice and always
looking to work with our employees to ensure everyone is given the opportunity
to develop themselves professionally.
You will work closely with our clinical multi-professional team which includes; an advanced nurse practitioner, a practice nurse, a pharmacist and the GPs.
We are also a training practice who host GP trainees and student nurse associates.

JOB DESCRIPTION PRACTICE NURSE
REPORTS TO: Partners & Management team
HOURS: 27 - 37.5 hours per week
Job Summary:
The Nurse Associate will work as part of the practice team providing general medical services to our patient population. Also assist medical personnel in the care of Practice patients to include treatment, preventative care, screening and patient education.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs
- Cytology - (training can be offered)
- New Patient Medicals/Urinalysis
- Venepuncture
- IM injections
- Blood pressure readings
- NHS health checks / Prediabetes education and referrals
- Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician
- Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
- Interest in Long term conditions reviews including Hypertension, Asthma, COPD and Diabetes among others.
- Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to GPs as appropriate
Other tasks will include:
- Participation in administrative systems and quality improvement activities in the Practice
- Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.
- On occasion there may be a requirement to undertake home visits
- Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post
